Technical solutions aimed at ensuring the supply of steam to the production process through the use of alternative fuel have been implemented at the Fergana Oil Refinery.
The installation of the fuel oil facilities at the new steam boiler house complex, as well as commissioning and start-up activities, have been completed. As a result, the supply of furnace fuel oil as an alternative fuel for the production of medium-pressure steam has been established.
The boilers’ capability to operate on fuel oil is of particular importance during the winter period, when restrictions on natural gas supplies may arise. Having an independent steam source will help enhance the stability of the technological process and reduce the potential impact of disruptions in external supplies.
At the same time, this will enable the refinery to continue optimizing operating costs associated with purchasing steam from the Fergana Thermal Power Plant during the winter season. The volume of purchased steam is expected to be reduced by an average of 40%.

The use of the new boilers is expected to reduce the costs associated with purchasing steam from external suppliers and improve economic efficiency. The exact economic benefit will be determined by comparing the cost of purchased steam with the full cost of steam produced at the refinery’s own steam boiler house using furnace fuel oil.
The measures aimed at developing the energy infrastructure are being implemented as part of a comprehensive set of initiatives designed to enhance the stability and reliability of production processes.
